How long have you worked with FamilyCare, and where are you from?
I grew up in St. Albans, and I’ve been working with FamilyCare since January 2014.

Why did you decide to pursue a career in medicine?
I was always interested in medicine from a young age, but my initial desire was to pursue a career as a veterinarian. I changed course in high school and decided I wanted to take care of people instead.

What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is witnessing the ways my team and I improve our patients’ quality of life.

What is your proudest professional accomplishment?
I’m most proud of myself for becoming a Nurse Practitioner at a young age. I was influenced by my nursing school mentor to pursue grad school immediately after undergrad, and although it did feel daunting, I am glad I did it.

Do you have a favorite memory from your time with FamilyCare?
My favorite memory is definitely my surprise baby shower lunch. At the time, I was working at our Patrick St. location. It was heartwarming to have so many people attend and see the effort everyone put into surprising me.

What’s one piece of health advice you wish every patient would take to heart?
I advise all my patients to acknowledge the impact that mental and emotional health can have on your physical health. If you’re struggling, seek help—either by talking to your health care provider, a family member, or a friend.
