Provider Spotlight: Sarah Frazier, MD, and Samantha Frazier, DO

Twins Sarah and Samantha Frazier have always had a lot in common—and now they can add practicing at FamilyCare’s Madison location to the list.

Who started working at FamilyCare first and how did the other get involved?

Samantha: Sarah started first, but we always planned on working together. When a spot opened up in the Madison office, I immediately applied for it while finishing my residency.

How long have you worked with FamilyCare?

Sarah: 4.5 years
Samantha: 3.5 months

Where are you from?

Both: Madison, WV

Why did you decide to pursue a career in medicine?

Sarah: To provide pediatric care in my hometown.
Samantha: I had a strong desire to care for those in my hometown and help them make good healthcare decisions.

What is the best part of your job?

Sarah: Building relationships with my patients and their families, and getting to see the children grow up.
Samantha: Getting to care for people of all ages—and working with my sister!

What is your proudest professional accomplishment?

Sarah: Becoming a board certified pediatrician.
Samantha: Being named Resident of the Year two years in a row during my residency program at GVMC.

What’s one piece of health advice you wish every patient would take to heart?

Sarah: Be seen for all your recommended well visits and stick to the “5210” rule: 5 servings of fruits and vegetables a day, 2 hours or less of screen time a day, 1 hour or more of vigorous physical activity daily, and 0 sugary sweetened beverages.
Samantha: Wash your hands, and make sure you are up to date on all vaccines even as adults. Vaccines really do work.

What do you enjoy doing most outside of work?

Sarah: Spending time with family, traveling, reading, baking, playing tennis, attending WVU sporting events, photography, crafts.
Samantha: Same as Sarah!
