FamilyCare Responds to Recent Gun Violence

Following the tragic events that occurred in Uvalde, Texas after the horrific actions in Buffalo, New York, our condolences are with the families, friends and communities of those killed, injured or affected in these shootings that have become far too commonplace in society.

As our nation tries to process the unthinkable, we at FamilyCare call on our national leaders and communities to seek out solutions, encourage bonds, and acknowledge unusual behaviors in order to prevent further tragedies from occurring in such innocent environments. Shopping, learning, and enjoying time with friends and family in public places should not be a test of survival by living out such a nightmare.

We are devastated by these occurrences and express our zero tolerance against violence of any kind. We call on our nation to come together for solutions to end such violence and take action, not sides.

We also encourage anyone who may be experiencing mental or behavioral health concerns to seek out support. FamilyCare and other organizations nationwide have quality behavioral health services that are intended to help individuals and communities. Join us in shedding the stigma of seeking help and support for one’s mental and behavioral wellbeing.
