FamilyCare Renovates Original Site for Pediatric Care in Hurricane
FamilyCare Health Centers, a growing healthcare provider to West Virginia families, has expanded its services into Hurricane to offer care for pediatric patients.
The site, located at 3911 Teays Valley Road, was occupied by FamilyCare for decades as the organization’s original birth center, offering birth services and women’s health. Throughout the years, FamilyCare has expanded to four counties offering services ranging from prenatal care and school-based health to primary care and behavioral health.
FamilyCare’s pediatric services in Teays Valley will relocate from their site in Scott Depot to the updated location, which has been renovated through a contract with Pray Construction. The site will be home to two board-certified pediatric healthcare providers, trained medical assistants, and support staff.
“The site is designed to meet the needs of babies, children, and teens, providing a wide range of comprehensive care,” states Mary Bailey, MD, the Pediatric Clinical Lead at FamilyCare Health Centers.
“Our team is delighted to meet the needs of our patients,” said Bailey. “Our new office offers separate waiting rooms for children that are healthy and children that are sick. We’ve really thought of everything to provide the best care for our visitors.”
In addition to the new pediatric location, plans are underway to expand FamilyCare’s spectrum of health to include urgent care, vision services, and additional primary care and family practice locations throughout the region. FamilyCare hopes to finalize four new locations by the summer of 2023.
FamilyCare is the recent recipient of several awards for its ongoing commitment to meeting West Virginians’ healthcare needs: the Health Center Quality Leader, Advancing Health Information Technology for Quality, Health Disparities Reducer, and Access Enhancer awards by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Resources and Services Administration.
“These achievements and new sites are a result of the quality and comprehensive care that we strive to provide to West Virginia communities,” said Craig Glover, president and CEO of FamilyCare “We hope to reach more residents with care that is nationally recognized and locally trusted.”
