FamilyCare Receives National Award, Prepares to Open New Facility

Recently, FamilyCare Health Centers received national recognition for its quality of services in the midst of expanding its presence in the St. Albans area.

FamilyCare was recognized as a Health Center Quality Leader and for Advancing Health Information Technology (HIT) for Quality by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)

“These quality improvement awards support health centers across the country in delivering care to people, providing a convenient source of quality care that has grown even more important during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar. “These awards help ensure that all patients who visit a HRSA-funded health center continue to receive the highest quality of care, including access to COVID-19 testing and treatment.”

Health centers were recognized for achievements in improving cost-efficient care delivery, increasing quality care, and advancing the use of health information technology, among other patient-centered activities. The honors follow the awards from the HRSA that FamilyCare received last year as a National Quality Leader recognition.

“This year’s honor is a testament to how FamilyCare is dedicated to providing the best care possible for our communities in West Virginia,” said Craig Glover, president and CEO of FamilyCare. “We’re proud of the work we’ve performed over the past year, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our associates have really stepped up to the plate, and it shows.”

Family Care Health Centers will also be cutting the ribbon to its new 10,000 square foot Patient Contact Center and distribution warehouse in Saint Albans, WV on Thursday, September 9, 2021. The ceremony will start at 2:00 pm with light refreshments.

When CEO, Craig Glover, joined FamilyCare in 2019, he accepted responsibility for the organization’s overall strategic direction.  A part of the strategic plan was creating a single point of contact for FamilyCare patients and providing efficient supply chain management. The new Patient Contact Center and distribution warehouse fulfills this mission while investing in the community and revitalizing a previously empty building.

The new Contact Center will provide patients’ a seamless way to schedule appointments across their multiple locations and get other information.  The site also serves as a centralized warehouse for medical and office supplies.

Locally constructed by Pray Construction Company, a leading Design-Builder in West Virginia, the project was also locally designed Markham Sallade, AIA.  The project wrapped in Summer 2021, ready for a Fall open.
