FamilyCare Awarded National Quality Services Recognition

FamilyCare was recognized as a National Quality Leader by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and was awarded over $220,000 for quality improvement to continue strengthening activities related to the criteria. The agency was only one of two health centers in the state of West Virginia to receive the award.

“These quality improvement awards support health centers across the country in delivering care to people, providing a convenient source of quality care that has grown even more important during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar. “These awards help ensure that all patients who visit a HRSA-funded health center continue to receive the highest quality of care, including access to COVID-19 testing and treatment.”

Health centers were recognized for achievements in improving cost efficient care delivery, increasing quality care, and advancing the use of health information technology, among other patient-centered activities.

“With the award, we will continue to ensure that West Virginians have safe and accessible health care,” said Craig Glover, CEO and President of Family Care. “This gives us an extra incentive to make certain that our community benefits from having quality services in our region.”
